Driver Rescues Injured Falcon From Spaulding Turnpike In NH

MILTON, N.H. (CBS) -- Milton police say a driver rescued an injured falcon from the Spaulding Turnpike in New Hampshire on Tuesday afternoon.

The driver found the falcon standing on the center line of the turnpike, according to the Milton police Facebook account.

He got out of his vehicle, wrapped up the bird in a jacket and put it into the passenger's side before taking it to Milton Veterinary Clinic.

The falcon was taken to Wings of the Dawn in Concord, New Hampshire for possible rehabilitation.

Police ask that people do not pick up wounded wild animals, especially from the highly-traveled turnpike, without proper training and equipment.

If you see an injured animal in the area, call Strafford Dispatch at (603) 652-4500.
