Driver Killed In Wrong-Way Crash In Westminster

WESTMINSTER (CBS/AP) — State police say the driver of a car traveling the wrong way on a ramp to Route 2 in Westminster has died in collision with a tractor-trailer.

The collision, on the westbound side of the highway at Exit 27, was reported at about 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The car became wedged under the truck, trapping the driver inside.

The driver, Judith Cheries, 68, of Leominster, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The tractor-trailer operator, a 46-year-old man from Somerville, was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
