State Police said a 2008 Hyundai sedan had been traveling in the middle lane, when the driver lost control.  The car then hit the left and right side guardrails.

A tractor-trailer behind the Hyundai tried to slow down and avoid the car, but the truck slammed into it.

The Hyundai driver, a 24-year-old man from Cranston, Rhode Island, was rushed to UMass Medical Center in Worcester where he died.

The truck driver, a 33-year-old man from Northborough, wasn't hurt.
