Driver Helps Rescue Injured Fawn During Morning Commute In Seekonk

SEEKONK (CBS) - Thursday was hardly a typical morning commute for a man driving through Seekonk.

Around 5:30 a.m., the driver, who didn't give his name, spotted a fawn limping along the road and called police.

He stopped, scooped up the animal and held it in his lap until an officer arrived.

Animal control transported the fawn to Bristol County Animal Hospital for x-rays.

The animal has some soft tissue damage, but no broken bones. The cause of the injury was not known.

The fawn is expected to be transferred to Tufts Wildlife Clinic, where it will be rehabbed and eventually released.
