Dracut Man Accused Of Attempted Rape At Lowell High School

LOWELL (CBS) -- A 55-year-old Dracut man was arrested Monday afternoon after he allegedly tried to rape someone at Lowell High School.

Police said Timothy Grover followed someone into the school but the person was able to get away. Grover was captured by a park ranger on Kirk Street but when Lowell Police arrived, they said Grover assaulted an officer.

Grover was charged with assault with intent to rape, and assault and battery on a police officer. Other charges are pending.

According to the Lowell Sun, Grover is the founder of Megan's House Foundation, a drug treatment home for young women in honor of his deceased daughter. Police told the paper he "victimized three females" in Monday's attack, including a Lowell High teacher.

Classes start Tuesday and a large police presence is expected.
