Dover Man Killed In One-Car Crash On Route 3 In Plymouth

PLYMOUTH (CBS) – State police are investigating a one-car crash on Route 3 in Plymouth Friday afternoon that killed a Dover man.

Just before 2:30 p. m. troopers responded to reports that a car had gone off the road from the northbound lanes at Exit 6B.

A 2012 Mercedes C300 was found in the median of Route 3 where it had hit a sign post.

State police said a 39-year-old Dover man, who was a passenger in the car, was seriously injured and taken by helicopter to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth where he later died.

The driver of the car, a 74-year-old Dover woman, was less seriously injured and was taken to Jordan Hospital in Plymouth, police reported.

The names of the crash victims were not available. No further information was released while state police continue to investigate.
