Police say the victim was shot once by a 27-year-old man who took off in a black BMW.

"There's way too many guns and when people are shooting over a parking spot we got a problem," Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said.

Commissioner Evans says the suspect is known to police.

The suspect's BMW was found outside 9 Nightingale Street. Police dressed in tactical gear searched the home but were unable to locate him.

One resident told WBZ that she knows the suspect. She claimed he lives in the attic of 9 Nightingale Street.

"We've never had an issue at all. He's always been pleasant, always been nice to my kids," Kimberly Carlisle said.
