Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By MBTA Bus In Dorchester

BOSTON (CBS) – A pedestrian hit by an MBTA bus late Thursday night in Dorchester has died. Police are continuing their investigation into the accident.

The man suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash that took place on Massachusetts Avenue near Theodore Glynn Way around 10:25 p.m. Thursday night.

The bus was turning right onto Theodore Glynn Way when it hit the pedestrian.

Evidence markers were placed around the wheels of an MBTA bus, which was marked off by police tape at the scene.

Officers could also be seen searching the exterior and interior of the bus.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

The 56-year-old bus driver has been with the MBTA since 2010. The driver is out of service while police investigate, which is standard protocol.
