6 Displaced After Flames Spread Through 2-Family Home In Dorchester
DORCHESTER (CBS) -- A large fire spread through a two-family home in Dorchester Friday morning. Five adults and one child are now displaced because of the damage, according to Boston Fire Department Deputy Chief Mike Doherty.
One firefighter had to be treated by Boston EMS.
The fire broke out at a house on Floyd Street at around 9 a.m. Flames were seen coming out of the roof of the home.
At one point, firefighters used a deck gun to stop the fire from spreading to other houses close to it.

At around 9:45 a.m., the Fire Department said the fire was under control.
"We had a couple of hot spots that we were chasing. A lot of work in there, a lot of ceilings had to be pulled. Called in a few extra ladder companies, and the fire is pretty much knocked down right now," said Chief Doherty.
Officials believe the fire started on the second floor porch, although that has not been officially confirmed. One resident told WBZ-TV that the same house caught on fire in 2010.
Boston Police asked commuters to avoid Floyd Street through Friday morning.
As of early Friday afternoon, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
