Dole Bagged Spinach Recalled Due To Salmonella Risk

MONTEREY, Calif. (CBS) -- Dole is recalling bagged spinach in 13 states, including Massachusetts, because of a possible salmonella risk.

The recalled product is Dole Spinach coded A27409B and A27409A, with an Enjoy By date of October 15 and UPC 7143000976.

Dole says there was "an isolated instance in which a sample of Dole Spinach salad yielded a positive result for Salmonella." No illnesses have been reported yet.

The recall does not affect baby spinach or any other Dole salads.

Anyone who bought the recalled spinach should throw it away.

People with questions can call Dole at (800) 356-3111. Dole said it is working to make sure the recalled spinach is removed from store shelves.
