Dog Taken From Running SUV In Ashland Shaw's Parking Lot Found

ASHLAND (CBS) -- Police in Ashland have found a dog that was stolen from a running vehicle Sunday afternoon.

The dog owner told police that she left the air conditioning on and the window cracked in her SUV while she went into Shaw's.

She told WBZ-TV that she was only in the grocery store for about five minutes when she came back out and realized 3-year-old Newton was gone.

But on Sunday, the owner said Newton was anonymously returned to the front seat of her car while she was posting flyers in the Shaw's plaza.

She noted that she'd left all of her car windows open while posting flyers.
