Dinner, Vigil Planned For Father, Child Killed In Circus Tent Collapse In NH

CONCORD, Vt. (AP) — A memorial dinner and a candlelight vigil are scheduled for a Vermont man and his 6-year-old daughter who died in a circus tent collapse in Lancaster, New Hampshire.

The memorial is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Concord School in Vermont, where Annabelle Young would have begun first grade this year. Her father, 41-year-old Robert Young, had worked at Common Ground in Whitefield, New Hampshire.

The two were killed when a storm blew through the Lancaster Fairgrounds and brought down a tent as a circus was performing on Monday, Aug. 3. About 50 people were injured.

At least $21,000 has been raised for the family.
