Delaware Girl Taken By Father Found In Mass. After Amber Alert

NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP/CBS) — Delaware police have canceled an Amber Alert for a 3-year-old New Castle County girl after authorities located her and her father in Massachusetts.

County police say Elinora Trotta and 43-year-old Michael Trotta were located with the help of the FBI and Massachusetts authorities.

Trotta was taken into custody in Spencer, Mass. without incident.

Police say they are working to reunite the girl with her mother. A news conference was planned for later Tuesday.

Authorities say the girl's mother, Dawn Barkus, called police Monday night to report that her ex-boyfriend had come to her home, assaulted her, and took Elinor.

Police say Michael Trotta was last seen Monday night at a rest stop near Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
