Debris Falls Off Truck On Mass. Pike, 3 Injured

MILLBURY (CBS) -- Massachusetts State Police said that large debris fell off of a truck and struck a car on I-90 eastbound Wednesday morning, injuring three.

The incident happened near exit 11 when a large metal object flew off a tractor-trailer, hitting a Subaru Legacy with four people inside.

The passenger sitting in the right front seat was initially trapped due to the damage. The driver, a 59-year-old man from Wilbraham, and two other adult passengers were transported to UMass Medical Center in Worcester with minor injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Anthony Donaldson, 48, of Roslindale, was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury crash and a left lane violation.

After the piece of equipment that fell was found to have been improperly secured, the company that owns the truck, Instituform Technologies of Chesterfield, Missouri, was issued a violation.
