Trump Chooses David Shulkin Over Scott Brown For VA Secretary

BOSTON (CBS) – Former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown will not be the next Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

At his first news conference since the election, President-elect Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he would nominate David Shulkin to the post.

Shulkin is currently the VA undersecretary.

Brown met with the president-elect at Trump Tower in Manhattan November 21 to discuss the job.

He tweeted Wednesday that he was "honored to be considered till the end."
