Retirement Plans? David Ortiz Bashes Piñatas In New Commercial

BOSTON (CBS) – If there's one thing the 2016 baseball season has proven so far, it's that 40-year-old David Ortiz can still swing a bat.

The Red Sox star is having a career year since he announced that this would be his last season in the big leagues. Now, a new commercial is exploring the question that so many Boston fans want to know: What exactly is Big Papi planning to do in retirement, anyway?

According to the lighthearted ad from JetBlue released Monday, the answer involves piñatas. Ortiz shows up to three children's birthday parties in the video, pulverizing one piñata after another and sending candy flying.

By the looks on the frightened kids' faces, Ortiz might want to consider a hobby that's a little less aggressive after hanging up his cleats.

"I'm not sure that's a viable retirement plan," Ortiz is told in the video.

"Just an idea," the slugger responds.
