Patriots Center David Andrews Hospitalized With Blood Clots In Lungs
BOSTON (CBS) -- New England Patriots center David Andrews was hospitalized Monday with blood clots in his lungs, WBZ-TV has confirmed.
The news was first reported by The Athletic's Jeff Howe. According to the Boston Globe, Andrews was released from the hospital Monday night.
He is expected to miss "a significant amount of time," according to Howe, and could be out the entire season.
Andrews, 27, has been the team's offensive captain since 2017. He's only missed two games the last three seasons and was a starter in the last three Super Bowls. He is signed until 2020.

Andrews played in the first half of the Patriots' preseason game last Thursday against the Carolina Panthers, but he missed the Patriots' last two practices, according to the Globe.
The Patriots may turn to backup Ted Karras to take Andrews spot on the offensive line.
The Pats play the New York Giants this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Gillette Stadium.
