Dash Cam Captures Hit And Run Crash On Route 2 In Lincoln

BOSTON (CBS) - Logan Febbi can't say he didn't know what hit him. His dash cam caught it all when a driver clipped his front bumper trying to pass him, hit the jersey barrier and flew backwards down Route 2 in Lincoln.

Febbi was on his way to his job in Boston during busy rush hour. "It was nerve-wracking, it's crazy. I didn't know how to handle it at first," said Febbi.

He was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher when the driver got out and walked over. "He's coming over to my car and was very aggressive in the way he did," Febbi said. "He was yelling expletives saying it was my fault and I should have stopped."

It was fear of an accident on the busy roadway that prompted Febbi to get the camera. The impact that crushed his bumper also left a visible mark under his right eye when the impact forced him into the steering wheel.

On the video you can see his hand pointing to the dash cam warning the other driver he's being recorded. "Just so you know it's still going on, but he didn't seem to care at all."

What he didn't anticipate was a female passenger getting out with a one month old baby. His camera must have had an impact because he then saw the driver suddenly take off and run down Route 2 out of sight.

"It's unreal, I can't imagine running from an accident let alone running from an accident with a woman and a baby."

State Police say they are still investigating and getting some cooperation from the female passenger to locate the driver.

Febbi believes the camera was a wise investment. "You see it from start to finish and you go 'wow' that's crazy," he said. "Just a first person view into what happened."
