Customer Robbed, Beaten With Gun Inside Dartmouth Gas Station

DARTMOUTH (CBS) – Police say a customer was beaten with a gun during a robbery inside a Dartmouth gas station.

The incident took place Friday around 6 p.m. inside the Shell station at the intersection or State Road and Reed Road.

A man told police he had been assaulted and beaten with a gun. The suspect took the man's money and ran.

The victim was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford by ambulance. Police did not say the extent of his injuries.

Following the incident, police searched the area with K-9s, but could not locate the suspect.

Officers are searching for a suspect described as a heavy set black man who is about 5'9" tall. He was wearing jeans, a dark hoodie and sneakers at the time of the assault.
