Daniel Nava Sent To AAA Pawtucket, RHP Alex Wilson Recalled

BOSTON (CBS) - According to Ian Browne, it appears that Daniel Nava is the odd man out in the Red Sox outfield. With Shane Victorino primed to return to from injury, Nava may be in for a lengthy stay in Triple-A.

The Red Sox recalled right-hander Alex Wilson to aid their overworked bullpen that has been victimized by a string of short outings from the starting pitchers. Wilson may only be with the big club briefly though, as Victorino is expected to be activated later this week.

The overcrowded outfield included Mike Carp, Jackie Bradley Jr., Jonny Gomes, and Grady Sizemore, but the slumping Nava was ultimately selected by manager John Farrell for relegation duties.

Through 17 games, Nava has only amassed a .149 batting average and has struggled to put the ball in play, striking out 17 times in only 75 plate appearances.
