Daily Talker: Soccer Heartbreaker

When it comes to heartbreaking losses, it doesn't get much worse than this.

With a trip to the World Cup final on the line, England defender Laura Bassett kicked the ball into her own goal in the waning minutes of her team's semifinal match versus Japan.  The goal put Japan up 2-1 and they eventually held on to advance to Sunday's final against the U.S. Women's National Team.

Bassett was inconsolable as she lay face down on the field, sobbing.

"It really was a horrible moment obviously for Laura, but you could see the regard in which the team hold Laura," England coach Mark Sampson said. "OK, she's hurting now, but tomorrow morning she'll wake up, she'll have 22 teammates and a group of staff give her a hug and tell her how proud we are of her."

Bassett's miscue is making worldwide headlines today but is certainly not the first memorable sports blunder.

How would you react?  What would you say to Laura Bassett today?
