Daily Talker: Michael Jackson's Virtual Performance at Billboard Music Awards

Nearly five years after his death, a virtual Michael Jackson took the stage at the Billboard Music Awards.

A hologram of the King of Pop performed some of his trademark dance moves during a performance of "Slave to the Rhythm", a song from Jackson's new posthumous album "Xscape", complete with background dancers, beaming lights and fire blasts.

"We tried to do as best we could what we thought Michael would have loved," Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid said. "But the truth is, you can't ever really know because he wasn't there."

Some audience members could be seen crying, and some viewers took to Twitter with similar reactions. Others, however, said they found it creepy and much too realistic.

Similar technology was used during the Coachella Music Festival in 2012 for a virtual performance by rapper Tupac Shakur.

What's your reaction to these virtual performances by music stars who have died? Is it an appropriate tribute, or are they uncomfortable to watch? Share your comments below, and watch for them on WBZ News in the Morning from 4:30 to 7:00 a.m.
