Daily Talker: Increase In State Fees?

A final hearing is set for this afternoon on a proposal to raise state fees for a number of activities. The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation is looking to increase fees for camping, parking, and other activities. The additional revenue will go towards maintaining the state's park system---the 9th largest in the U.S. For example, the cost of a campsite for state residents would go from $15 to $22. Parking at state beaches for residents would go up to $12 a day. A final public hearing is scheduled at 4 p.m. today at the DCR's main office at 251 Causeway St. in Boston.

What do you think about a possible increase in fees at state parks and campgrounds?
