Daily Talker: Grand Opening Of Public Restroom

A grand opening ceremony is planned for this Friday in Cambridge. But, it's not for a restaurant or store. The city will celebrate the opening of its first freestanding toilet in Harvard Square. This has been in the works for years. A grass-roots group called Advocates for a Common Toilet has been fighting for the "right" to have a restroom near the Cambridge Common that would be accessible to residents, visitors and the homeless population. The toilet will be accessible 24 hours a day. City officials say it's clean, safe and environmentally friendly. They claim it is graffiti-resistant too. What do you think of the plan and the celebration for a public restroom? Are more public restrooms needed across the area?
