Daily Talker: Gender Neutral Bathrooms

When you've got to go, you've got to go.

But let's be honest.

There are probably very few people who look forward to having to use a public bathroom.  It's especially challenging for, say, fathers out with their young daughters; or health aides assisting someone of the opposite sex.  And members of Boston's transgender community say that simple, vital act can lead to harassment, or even assault.

Now, that's changing.

Mayor Marty Walsh has just signed an executive order creating gender-neutral bathrooms on the fifth floor of Boston's City Hall.  The mayor says it's a no brainer – and will help anyone uncomfortable with using a bathroom designed for one gender or the other.

What do you think? Is it time to move beyond two of everything? Or does the thought of sharing a toilet with someone of the opposite gender just not sit well?
