Daily Talker: Dog Owners vs. Cat Owners

Dog owners are happier, more positive, more agreeable and less neurotic than cat owners. At least according to a new study. Researchers at Manhattanville College surveyed 263 people. The participants filled out an online survey on pet ownership, personality and well-being. The results found dog owners reported higher levels of happiness, life satisfaction and positive emotions compared to cat owners. Dog owners also reported being more extroverted, agreeable and conscientious. Cat owners were more neurotic and reported more negative emotions. Pet owners in general reported being more satisfied with life compared to people who did not have a pet.

What do you think of this study? Are dog owners happier and less neurotic than cat owners?

Do you agree having a pet makes your life more satisfying?
