Daily Talker: Delaying Finals Due To Protests?

Students at three of the nation's most prestigious law schools---including Harvard---are demanding that their final exams be delayed because they've been busy protesting the grand jury decisions in Ferguson, Missouri and New York City, and have not had enough time to study. At Harvard Law, a group of minority students sent a letter to the dean listing several demands. Among them, a request to allow students to reschedule their exams at their own discretion as well as grief and trauma councilors. University officials at Harvard along with Georgetown and Columbia have said students can petition to have their exams rescheduled and the requests will be considered individually, a process their policies already provided. Harvard Law Dean Martha Minow has responded to the students' letter and agreed to host a forum at the school today at noon where all students and faculty can participate.
