Daily Talker: Barbie Poses For Sports Illustrated

Sports Illustrated has featured countless famous models in its annual swimsuit issue. For the 50th anniversary issue hitting newsstands next week, Christie Brinkley, Kathy Ireland and Heidi Klum won't be the only ones striking sexy poses -- so will Barbie.

Barbie's photo spread will include 22 of the dolls, and to mark the occasion Mattel will sell a collector doll exclusively at Target stores.

Mattel says it reached out to Sports Illustrated about doing a shoot eight months ago.

Both brands have been the target of criticism for years, with complaints that Barbie's unrealistic figure is not a positive role model for girls. Some critics say the S.I. swimsuit issue objectifies women.
