Crews Rescue Driver Who Crashed Into Tree, Drainage Ditch

NORWELL (CBS) – Firefighters were able to rescue a driver who crashed his car into a tree and wound up in a drainage ditch early Saturday morning.

Norwell Fire says the crash happened about 4:15 a.m. on the 400 block of Main Street.

Using the Jaws of Life, it took crews about 45 minutes to free the driver from the wreckage.

That driver, who was not identified, was taken to South Shore Hospital. He was reported to be conscious and alert. His condition was not immediately available.

Authorities do not believe that any other cars were involved in the crash.
