Reopening Massachusetts: All Remaining COVID Restrictions Lifted
BOSTON (CBS) -- All remaining COVID restrictions have been lifted in Massachusetts. Gov. Charlie Baker signed several orders on Friday rescinding most limitations put in place to battle the coronavirus pandemic.
All industries can reopen businesses to full capacity, including stadiums, nightclubs, and bars.
Limitations on gatherings have been lifted.
The mask mandate has been changed to a mask advisory encouraging un-vaccinated residents to continue wearing face coverings. Individual businesses can still decide to require face coverings for customers though.
Following CDC guidance, Massachusetts will still require face masks for students and staff inside school buildings. Face coverings will still be mandatory for all people on ride shares, livery, taxi, ferries, MBTA, commuter rail, transportation stations, in health care facilities, and in congregate care settings.

On Friday, there were 253 new COVID cases reports and four additional deaths with the seven-day weighted average of positive tests at 0.74% in Massachusetts.
