Corner Robert McClain Says He's Signing With Patriots

BOSTON (CBS) -- It appears another corner will be joining the New England Patriots roster.

According to former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Robert McClain, he'll be continuing his NFL career with the Patriots.

McClain, a seventh round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2010 out of UConn, played the last three seasons with the Falcons. In his four-year NFL career (he did not play in 2011), he has three interceptions, two forced fumbles and 158 tackles. Two of his interceptions came last season, when he started six of 16 games for Atlanta.

It's unclear where the 26-year-old McClain will fit in on the New England defense, but his addition will provide more depth at corner. He'd be the second corner the Patriots reportedly added on Wednesday, with New England also set to sign six-year veteran corner Bradley Fletcher.

The Patriots lost both Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner to free agency this offseason, with Revis going to the Jets and Browner going to the Saints.
