Construction Worker Shocked In Plymouth

PLYMOUTH (CBS) -- A construction worker is alert and conscious after they were shocked on the job.

Officials say it occurred at a construction site for the Department of Public Works on Lothrop and Water Street in Plymouth.

The worker, a 61-year-old man, according to the Plymouth Fire Department, was working for Gioioso & Sons at the time.

Chief Edward Bradley explained that a trench was being created to run pumps. The shock occurred when the worker turned on the pump.

He was transported to South Shore Hospital and he will be kept there for observation, officials said.

Police are investigating the incident. No further information is available at this time.
