Police Arrest Suspects In Conn. Carjacking Following Worcester Chase

WORCESTER (CBS) – Massachusetts State Police arrested two armed carjacking suspects from Connecticut who they say intentionally drove at police cruisers during a chase that ended in Worcester.

Just after 10 a.m. on Thursday, State Police received a "be on the lookout" alert for a dark-colored Nissan Rogue that was wanted following a violent carjacking in Thompson, Conn.

Two people were stabbed during the Thompson incident. One person suffered serious injuries.

Connecticut State Police say prior to the incident in Thompson, the two suspects carjacked a vehicle in Putnam and eventually crashed that vehicle.

Police spotted the Nissan on Route 395 and began a pursuit. The vehicle exited at Route 20 in Auburn and came to a stop.

As police approached the vehicle, the driver allegedly tried to ram the cruiser, drove to a nearby parking lot and attempted to ram a second cruiser.

The suspects then fled toward Worcester.

Troopers followed the Nissan through Worcester onto Papagin Terrace, a cul-de-sac. As the driver tried to turned around in a driveway, the vehicle hit a car and a State Police cruiser before coming to a stop.

Police identified the driver as Christopher Harding, 21, of Dayville, Conn. The female passenger is still under investigation, but her identity has not yet been released.

No one was injured during the chase.
