Colleen Ritzer Scholarships Awarded To 4 Danvers Students

ANDOVER, Mass. (AP) — Four Danvers High School seniors have been named recipients of the 2015 Colleen Ritzer Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarships are named after the North Andover native and Danvers High math teacher who was killed in October 2013, allegedly by one of her students.

The scholarships are awarded to students from Danvers or North Andover high schools who reflect Ritzer's values and plan to go to college and become teachers.

The North Andover recipients will be announced next week.

The Danvers recipients are William Carleton Jr., who will attend the University of New Hampshire; Rebecca Hardenstine, going to Providence College; Haley O'Shea, headed to Boston College; and Jenna Romano, going to Roger Williams University.
