Cohasset Police Seeking Suspect In Attempted Child Abduction

COHASSET (CBS) -- Police are searching for a driver who allegedly tried to abduct a 12-year-old girl walking in Cohasset on Friday morning.

The incident happened in a residential neighborhood near the intersection of Cushing Road and James Lane around 8:30 a.m.

The man opened the door and offered the girl a ride. She then ran away and went directly home.

When she arrived home, her parents called 911, WBZ-TV's Bill Shields reports.

The driver is described as a white man, wearing a black ski mask, black hoodie, and blue jeans.

Investigators say the suspect's vehicle is a white or cream-colored "boxy-style" late model Jeep Cherokee, with yellow or orange New York license plates containing a 'B' and a '2.'
