Coast Guard Asking For Help In Locating Distressed Radio Caller In Maine

PORTLAND, MAINE (CBS) - The U.S. Coast Guard is asking for the public's help in providing information on a distress call they received on Tuesday.

A Coast Guard station in Portland received a distress call in which the voice said, "Help! Coast Guard! I need some help. I am going underwater."

The Coast Guard was able to narrow down the caller's location to Eggemoggin Reach.

The Guard is using a plane from the Cape Cod station and boats from Maine stations to search for the caller. A helicopter and cutter boat will soon join the search.
