Chris Young Injured During Red Sox' Matinee With White Sox

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Red Sox' already-thin stable of outfielders just got a little bit thinner.

Left fielder Chris Young departed early from Thursday afternoon's Fenway matinee against the White Sox. After hitting a ball off the Green Monster, Young fell to the ground in pain, grabbing his right leg.

Young needed to be helped off the field.

Previously, the Red Sox lost Brock Holt, who was spending most of his time this season as an outfielder, to a concussion and Blake Swihart, who made the switch from catcher to left fielder, to an ankle injury.

Ryan LaMarre, who has 27 career MLB at-bats, entered the game in place of Young on Thursday.
