Chris Kelly, Milan Lucic Undergo Successful Surgeries

BOSTON (CBS) -- The list of injured players following the end of the Bruins season was relatively small this year, and two players who required surgery have now undergone successful procedures.

Chris Kelly, who missed the end of the regular season and the entire postseason with a back ailment, underwent successful surgery to repair a herniated disc.

Milan Lucic, who suffered a wrist injury in Game 7 against Montreal, underwent surgery to repair that wrist.

General manager Peter Chiarelli said that both players are expected to be ready for the start of training camp for the 2014-15 NHL season.

Kelly, 33, posted 9-9-18 totals with just a plus-2 rating in 57 games this year.

Lucic, 25, posted 24-35-59 totals in 80 regular-season games before posting 4-3-7 totals in 12 postseason games.
