NH Man Charged With Abusing Infant

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) – A New Hampshire man was arrested Wednesday, charged with abusing an infant and causing "suspicious" injuries.

On May 16, Manchester Police began investigating after a boy under six months old was transported to Children's Hospital at Dartmouth with injuries to his head.

Detectives say 28-year-old Anthony Yarbrough was responsible for the boy's injuries.

He was arrested after a week-long investigation and charged with first degree assault.

The infant is currently in care of family members as he recovers from his injuries.

Yarbrough was arraigned Thursday and ordered held on $100,000 bail. He is next scheduled to appear in court on June 7.

"Child abuse cases are very difficult cases to investigate, so exceptional investigative work is required to hold people accountable when crimes are committed against children too young to communicate for themselves," Manchester Police said.
