Chicopee Family Reportedly Finds Needle-Like Object In Halloween Candy

CHICOPEE (CBS) -- Chicopee police are investigating a report of a needle-like object found in a chocolate bar given to a child on Halloween.

According to police, the family was trick-or-treating near near Granby Road and East Street. The family turned the candy over to police when they found the object.

Reported incidents in other Massachusetts towns have prompted police to remind parents to check all candy before letting children eat it.

In Auburn, a warning from police about a metallic object found in a candy bar wrapper turned out to be hoax.

A residence in North Reading left out children's cough syrup samples for trick-or-treaters.
