Arrest Made In Chelsea Hit And Run

CHELSEA (CBS) – Police have located the driver suspected in a hit-and-run crash that injured a 72-year-old Chelsea woman.

Police said they will file criminal complaints against 25-year-old Lynn resident Arnold Hernandez connected to a Friday crash at the intersection of 4th Street and Broadway.

He will be charged leaving the scene of an accident causing personal injury, operating a motor vehicle without a license and operating to endanger.

The charges are expected to filed Monday morning in Chelsea District Court.

A telephone tip led police to the white minivan Hernandez was allegedly driving at the time of the crash.

Detectives said they verified through a family member that Hernandez was behind the wheel.

As a result, Hernandez was arrested at his place of work in Revere on Saturday afternoon.

The 72-year-old woman suffered non-life threatening injuries.
