Live 'Cheers' Performance Coming To Boston Theater

BOSTON (CBS) – The bar where everybody knows your name is coming to a Boston stage this fall.

Theater group The Road Company is bringing a touring performance of "Cheers Live on Stage" to Boston's Citi Shubert Theatre.

The play is based on the iconic television sitcom that aired from 1982-1993. The show centered around the Boston bar Cheers and the characters who frequented the establishment.

According to The Road Company, the stage version will also center around the interior of the bar.

Characters Sam Malone, Carla, Cliff and others will be portrayed in the play, which is performed in two acts.

Cheers will run at the Citi Shubert Theatre from September 9-18.
