Two Men Charged With Masked, Armed Robbery

CHATHAM (CBS) – Police arrested two Cape Cod men charged with robbing a convenience store while armed and wearing masks.

Officers were called to The Corner Store on Friday around 7 p.m.

The victims told police two masked men robbed the store, though no one was hurt.

Police say the suspects got away with a large amount of cash.

A short time later, Harwich Police detained a suspect vehicle with four people inside.

Two men from inside the car were arrested.

Cesar Mata and Whilhelm Alvarez, both 19 years old from Hyannis, were charged with armed robbery while masked and breaking and entering in the daytime for felony.

Additional charges may follow.

Both men are scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
