Boston Police arrest Beacon Hill break-in suspect again after new incidents on Charles Street

Man arrested for Beacon Hill break-ins appears in court

BOSTON – Boston Police said accused Beacon Hill thief James Schaff is at it again.

Schaff, 57, of Cambridge, was arrested Wednesday night after break-ins were reported at three places on Charles Street. Shattered windows could be seen after the incidents.

Schaff was arrested back in August for similar break-ins on Charles Street.

Video released at the time showed a man police said was Schaff breaking through the glass door of a Beacon Hill gift shop. Officers said he attempted at least four other burglaries around that time.

Schaff was arraigned for the three break-ins at Boston Municipal Court on Thursday.
