Celtics' James Young May Miss Orlando Summer League

BOSTON (CBS) -- First-round draft pick James Young was introduced by the Celtics on Monday, and said he was ready to hit the floor in preparation of this week's Orlando Summer League.

Unfortunately for Young, he wasn't able to do that on Tuesday.

Young suffered a neck injury in a minor car accident before the draft, which caused him to sit out the team's first practice in Waltham on Tuesday. Young, who Boston drafted 17th overall last Thursday night, isn't sure if he'll be able to play in the league when it gets underway on Saturday.

While injury concerns are never a good thing, Young's absence from Tuesday's practice (and possible absence from the Summer league) is likely just precautionary on Boston's part.

The 6-6 Young averaged 14.3 points on 40.7 percent shooting, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists during his only season with Kentucky last season.
