CBS To Air Eight Thursday Night NFL Games In 2014

BOSTON (CBS) -- Thursday Night Football will be available to millions of more viewers beginning in 2014.

The NFL announced Wednesday that there will be 16 Thursday night games, with eight airing on CBS and being simulcast on NFL Network. The NFL Network will exclusively air the remaining six Thursday night games and two late-season Saturday games.

Previously, NFL Network was the exclusive home for Thursday Night Football.

Jim Nantz and Phil Simms will serve as the broadcasting team for the Thursday night games, and NFL Network hosts and analysts will also be a part of the production.

The agreement is just for the 2014 season, but the league has an option to add another year.

"NFL Network built Thursday into a night for NFL fans," said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. "Our goal is to bring these games to more fans on broadcast television with unprecedented promotion and visibility for Thursday Night Football on CBS."
