Carver Man Rescued After Getting Lost In Woods Behind Home

CARVER (CBS) -- A Carver man was rescued by police Sunday night after getting lost for hours in the woods behind his home.

Carver police responded to a call around 4:45p.m. of a missing 55-year-old man in a wooded area by South Meadow Road and Main Street.

Before the man's cell phone died, the Carver Fire Department told him to light a fire. State and local search teams were able to locate the man four hours later in the woods. The man told WBZ-TV he had lived in Carver for 27 years and was familiar with the woods and had gone for a walk.

The man was not hurt and was immediately returned home, police said.
