Carver Man Killed In Early Morning Crash

CARVER (CBS) – Police in Carver said one person was killed in an early morning crash when a car struck a tree.

Just after 3 a.m. Carver police were called to Wenham Road and Center Street along with Massachusetts State Police and the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department for a crash involving a 1997 Nissan Maxima.

Police said the vehicle was being driven by Michael Davidson, 21, of Carver, while Dennis Neil, 21, also of Carver was a passenger.

The car failed to make a turn and crashed at 104 Center Street, where it struck a tree head on, police said.

Neil was transported to Plymouth Beth Israel Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Davidson was transported to South Shore Hospital, where he was treated and released to the custody of Carver police.

The cause of the crash is not currently available.
