Carl Stevens' Journal: A Poem For DeflateGate

Can we, as fans, really stand tall
When our team is playing with deflated balls?
We should be having a celebration,
Not a pigskin emasculation.
Instead of historical world beaters
Our Pats are being referred to as cheaters!
I'm somewhat saddened by this sorry scene,
'Cuz I really think they're a really great team.
They make my Sundays as the weather gets cold,
But this cheating chat is getting old.
They work so hard, they sweat and roar,
And leave defeated teams on the Foxboro floor.
They're so well-coached, so fundamentally sound,
Why underinflate a ball by a few pounds?
With the cloud of SpyGate over their heads,
Why would they spit on victory's bed?
This certain team, and this certain coach,
Have to be above reproach.
Do other teams and players do the same thing?
You bet, but they don't have as many rings,
And they're not all hated across the nation.
That's why this is a source of frustration.
I hope in the Super Bowl they'll answer the call,
And defeat Seattle with fully inflated balls.
