Moose Killed In Weston May Have Been In Watertown, Belmont

WESTON (CBS) -- A moose that was hit and killed by a car in Weston Tuesday night may have been the same one seen running through Watertown and Belmont earlier this month.

The young female moose was struck on River Road around 8:30 p.m.

The driver, Nancy Rourke, was not hurt, but her car was heavily damaged.

"It took the mirror off the side of my car and went over my windshield and crashed into my windshield," she told WBZ-TV.

Environmental Police euthanized the moose.

"Environmental Police believe it may be the same moose that was spotted multiple times in Belmont, but can't confirm that it is," Katie ‎Gronendyke, a spokeswoman for the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, told WBZ-TV in an email Wednesday.
